Water Operations Supervisor

This is a professional management position responsible for supervising and coordinating water treatment operations for the Department of Utilities. The water plant operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Work involves supervising all aspects of a lime softened, surface water plant with ultraviolet light and chloramine disinfection. Responsible for treatment train operations that will always maintain plant operation within federal and state compliance. This work includes scheduling shifts, coordinating daily work assignments, developing special projects, interacting with staff to analyze data and coordinate process control investigations, working with maintenance staff to coordinate maintenance activities, and significant interaction with senior management to support facility and departmental goals. Supporting staff training programs, safety programs, consumer communication, and special project initiatives are also key functions of this position. This position works under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Utilities.
 
Qualifications
A broad knowledge of water operations with valid state certification is required. Requires a High school Degree and a two-year technical or college degree with eight to nine years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
 
Salary
The hiring salary range for this position is $32.98 – $49.46 hourly, plus an excellent fringe benefit package.
